Requirements
- Microsoft Remote Desktop app installed on your MacBook.
- Access to the server that you want to connect to.
- OneDrive set up on your MacBook.
Instructions
Step 1: Connect to VPN (Global Protect)
Connect to the VPN using the Global Protect app. For instructions on how to connect to a VPN, refer to the article here.
Step 2: Open Microsoft Remote Desktop
- Launch the Microsoft Remote Desktop app on your Mac.
Step 3: Access Remote PC Settings
- In the Connection Center, right-click on the remote PC you wish to configure.
- Select "Edit" from the context menu.
Step 4: Navigate to Folders Tab
- In the Edit PC window, go to the "Folders" tab.
Step 5: Enable Folder Redirection
- Check the "Redirect folders" option to enable redirection.
Step 6: Choose Folders to Redirect
- Click the '+' button to add a new folder.
- In the Finder window that opens, navigate to your OneDrive folder.
- Select the specific OneDrive folder you wish to redirect and click "Open".
Step 7: Configure Redirection Options
- You can optionally set the redirected folder to "Read-only" by checking the box if you do not wish to allow changes from the remote session.
Step 8: Save Settings
- Click "Save" to apply the changes.
Step 9: Connect to Remote PC
- Double-click the remote PC to initiate a remote desktop session.
- Your selected OneDrive folders should now be available in your redirected folders during the remote session.
Additional Tips
- Ensure your OneDrive is properly synced on your Mac before starting the remote session for the latest files to be available.
