This article will guide you on installing and accessing M-files on a Mac machine. 


Note: Please note that all the basic applications you need should be available in our Kandji Self-service. Please install the application from Kandji self-service to avoid issues activating the application on your Mac machine. 


1. Look for the Kandji Self-service icon (bee icon) at the bottom part of your Mac. Open it.  


2. Go to All under Library on the left side pane and look for M-files Web Companion. Click on the Install button. 




3. After the installation, search M-files from Finder by clicking the magnifying glass icon at the top right-hand corner of your screen. Click on 'M-files Web Companion'



You will get this pop-up windows below, click on OK.


Click on System Settings located at the bottom part of your screen or search for settings in Finder then click on System settings


 or


Look for 'Privacy and Security' on the left pane. Under 'Security', you will find a message saying, 

"M-files Web Companion' was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer"


Click on Open Anyway button.



After clicking the Open Anyway button, it will prompt you to enter you Mac login password:


Then this screen below will show up, just click on Open button


After clicking the Open button, wait for a few seconds and you will see the M-files icon at the top part of your screen. 



Try to access M-files now via web in Okta.


Click the Okta Icon from your Safari, search for M-files Web and click on it. 


It will ask you to authenticate from your Okta Verify App:


After acknowledging it from your Okta verify app on your phone, you should be able to access the M-files now:

 



Note: When you check-in and check-out a document from M-files, please make sure that the M-files Web companion is running. You can verify this if you see this icon at the top bar on your Mac and at the bottom part as well:
